Contractor marketplace · Plain-language summary

Clear rules for every appointment.

How purchases, fees, cancellations, rescheduling, reassignment, privacy, and reporting work in the WindowContracts.com network.

Effective July 1, 2026Policy version 1.4
Short version

One approved contractor purchases one confirmed consultation. Final availability and eligibility are checked before payment. If another contractor completes the transaction first, you are not charged. Homeowner details unlock only for the successful assignee.

01

Marketplace model

WindowContracts.com is an automated scheduling network. It is not an auction, bidding system, shared lead list, or request for competing proposals. A homeowner begins through WindowQuotes.ai, receives a preliminary estimate, shares project information, and requests a consultation time.

  • Signed-in contractors may browse redacted appointment summaries. Purchasing requires approval and matching territory, product, credentials, payment, availability, capacity, and other qualifications.
  • Opportunity visibility, sales, revenue, close rates, and appointment volume are not guaranteed.
  • Appointment prices are administratively configured by project type, preliminary value, market, and applicable replacement terms.
02

Purchase & payment

Appointment cards disclose the configured fee and applicable policy terms before confirmation. When a contractor confirms purchase, the platform performs a live sequence of checks.

  1. Recheck that the appointment remains available.
  2. Recheck contractor approval, credentials, payment status, territory, product qualification, calendar, and capacity.
  3. Place a short server-side lock and authorize the fee with the payment provider.
  4. Atomically assign the appointment to one contractor and remove it from every other marketplace.
  5. Capture payment, release private details, create the calendar event, and send branded confirmations.

If the appointment is already assigned, a new conflict appears, eligibility fails, or payment authorization fails, the losing contractor is not charged. If an authorization must be reversed after an assignment failure, the platform voids it and keeps homeowner details protected.

03

Homeowner privacy

Before purchase, contractors receive only the information required to evaluate an opportunity safely: city/general area, approximate distance, time, project scope, preliminary value, home context, concerns, timeline, financing interest, photo availability, and appointment price.

The homeowner's full name, phone, email, and exact street address remain protected until purchase and assignment succeed. The assigned contractor may use this information only to serve the consultation and related project. Access is auditable and may be suspended for misuse.

04

Rescheduling

When the homeowner requests a new time

The platform shows available times from the assigned contractor's calendar. A selected time is revalidated before the appointment and both calendars update. Confirmations are sent and the original assignment and purchase remain in place.

When the contractor requests a new time

The contractor should first offer alternatives from their own availability. The selected time is rechecked before confirmations and calendar updates. A reschedule does not automatically create a refund or credit.

05

Cancellations, no-shows & credits

Homeowner cancellations, contractor cancellations, no-shows, late changes, credits, and refunds are evaluated under the timing and market configuration shown before purchase. This summary does not assume every cancellation qualifies for a refund.

Homeowner cancellationRecord the timing and reason. Any credit follows the applicable configured window.
Homeowner no-showRecord contact attempts and arrival evidence required by the operating policy.
Contractor cancellationMay trigger reassignment, account review, and contractor-side fees or no credit depending on policy.
Platform-caused failureInvestigated through payment, assignment, calendar, notification, and audit records.
06

Reassignment

If the assigned contractor cannot serve the appointment, it is marked as needing reassignment. The original calendar event is removed or updated, the appointment can return to the eligible marketplace under administratively configured replacement pricing, and the homeowner is told the platform is assigning another qualified contractor.

  • The original contractor is not automatically refunded.
  • The replacement contractor is revealed to the homeowner only after repurchase.
  • If the appointment is not repurchased within the configured service level, operations escalates it and offers the homeowner new times or cancellation options.
07

Eligibility & account status

Only approved contractors with current required credentials and a valid payment method may purchase. Draft, submitted, under-review, rejected, suspended, and expired-credential accounts cannot purchase. The platform can pause access when a calendar connection is unhealthy, capacity is exhausted, payment fails, or other qualifications no longer match.

08

Outcomes & performance reporting

Contractors can report appointment contact, completion, no-show, cancellation, sale, revenue, product, installation date, and notes. Sales, revenue, contract values, installation dates, close rate, average project value, and cost per reported sale are labeled contractor-reported until independently verified.

WindowContracts.com does not publish a national close-rate benchmark until sufficient reliable data exists and the methodology is documented.
